While I have announced and shared it with many people on my personal social media and to friends and family, I thought my baby had earned a post of its, or should I say, his own. We're having a boy!
I've been combing through posts and pins about how and what to pray for your for your unborn son. And there have been so many wonderful suggestions; for wisdom, for grace, for health. But nothing had really tugged at my soul as the "perfect prayer" for my son. But God uses all kinds of avenues for communication, including text messages between my sister-in-law.
I won't deny that the pregnancy was surprising and took some time to process. But I also knew from the moment I knew about him, I began to pray for him. Before Josh even knew, I was praying for this child. And when Rachel offered the verse she had been praying for him, it spoke to my soul, God's words are rarely our own, but this time, they were.
We all have dreams for the children in our lives. That they will grow up to do great things, that they will grow up be athletic or musical. But I didn't hope for a boy or girl and I have not prayed that my child will be many things. But I have been praying for a child that will grow in God and bear fruit that is pleasing to God. There are so many things we can hope for our children, but what is greater than hoping for a child that will please our Lord.
Thank you, sweet friend and sister for sharing your prayer with me and my son. And thank you to all those who have been and will continue praying for my sweet boy as we eagerly wait for June.
