I've seen several different posts that detail things that are making life better/easier for moms and I was so inspired that I wanted to try it for myself!
Blessed Is She
The Blessed Is She daily devotionals and online community have been such a highlight for over the last month! If you haven't looked into or heard of BIS, it is an online Catholic women's community. You can join a regional group that communicates regularly about a variety of things including spiritual and life support and prayer requests. The community also runs a blog and sends daily devotionals written about the daily readings. They are a great start to my day and I enjoy having a community to pray with and for.
My MIL got this for me for Christmas, and to be honest, I had no idea what it was (sorry!!). But after doing some Pinterest research, I was able to discover that not only is this thing trendy, it is so useful! I have used it multiple times throughout the past month and each meal has come out great. I also discovered that you can sanitize your pump parts, baby bottles, sippy cups, etc. with it. It was life-changing to discover I could santize everything in under ten minutes. I would highly recommend if you like to make one-pot style meals.
I have been wanting to air dry laundry since the baby came, because somehow one tiny human has increased our laundry exponentially. I finally buckled and purchased one from Target and I am so glad I did. I basically run a load of laundry every other day in the early evening, put the clothes out to dry before bed, and have dry clothes by the next day. And that's without the warm, summer sun.
Pro-mama tip, get a small space heater. I use it to keep the nursery just a little more toasty, I use it to heat up the bathroom so he can still enjoy his bath time, and I point it towards his crib before I put him down for the night so that he isn't startled awake by a chilly mattress. I've had my space heater for years and it has been such a lifesaver during these cold winter months without having to overheat the entire house.
Note: I do not leave it running throughout the night, I just use it to warm up the room to help him fall asleep and then snuggle him with a fleece Halo sleep sack.
I am so picky about my planners so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and create my own. It is work, you have to set aside the time to design your spreads and take your time creating them. But it is a nice bit of creativity to spark my week or month with. I love how versatile it is and that I have plenty of space for what I want my planner to have rather than being tied to another person's design.
